Leave a Comment
Its been more than a year since google launched their sweetest version of android, but many users were unhappy because Xposed Framework was not officially released for this version.

But some weeks ago, team PurifyOS released their unofficial version of Xposed Framework for android 7.x and this is a guide on how to install it.

Disclamer-
I, or anybody related to this project is not responsible for any damage that you cause to your phone, everything that happens to your phone is a consequence of your own actions.
All the files provided in this post for download are a property of their respective owners/developers.

One thing that this tutorial assumes is that you are familiar with flashing zip files and you have a custom recovery installed.

Magisk

If you know about magisk and have it installed already, you can skip to the next part of this guide.
Magisk is a tool that let's you install things systemlessly. (this is all you need to know about magisk for now, if you want to know more then click here)
Now you have two options, installing with magisk or without it.
I recommend installing systemlessly with magisk but if you want you can skip this part.

Installing Magisk

1. Download the zip from here
2. Take a backup of your data
3. Flash this zip in your custom recovery
4. Reboot

**If your phone goes into boot loop then download this uninstaller and flash it, your phone should boot after this. If it doesn't then wipe everything and use the backup you created in step 2. Now skip to the non magisk method at the end.**

After installing Magisk successfully, you will find magisk manager in your app drawer which means that the installation was successful. Now comes the main part!

Xposed Framework

Basic terms-
SDK24 = Android 7.0.x
SDK25 = Android 7.1.x

Installing Xposed-

1. Download and install(apk file) the latest material Xposed Installer app from here
2. Download the correct xposed zip file and from here
(Click on magisk if you have magisk properly installed, otherwise click on classic. Then select the correct version of sdk based on your android version and download the zip)
3. Create a Backup of your data
4. Flash this zip in a custom recovery and reboot. This step is same for both magisk and classic method.
5. Reboot
**Booting takes time on some devices, like mine took nearly 5 minutes to boot so wait for atleast 6-7 minutes before declaring boot loop. If you are sure that your phone has entered boot loop then download the uninstaller from the same link in Step 2 and flash it, your phone should boot with no effect, if it doesn't then wipe everything and use the backup you created in Step 3.**

If everything works out for you then you'll have a working version of Xposed Framework.
