The One Review (for India)

This actually doesn't makes sense for a flagship killer to be this inexpensive, and we mean it. The One is probably the best option available in India under this price bracket. It can be called a complete device when it comes down to hardware. It comes with a high end hardware for its price. This devices features a 5.5 inch LTPS display with a 1920 x 1080p resolution with the protection of Gorilla Glass 3. The device runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz along with 3 GB of RAM. The device gets juice from a 3100 mAh non-removable battery.

SOFTWARE

Currently running on Cyanogenmod 11s this device gets to the horizon of customization. The little tweaks which Cyanogen has added to its software has made the One even more desirable to buy. Being Cyanogenmod you can expect quick updates with some nifty improvements. The company has also promised to give out Android 5.0 Lollipop OTA update within 3 months of launch. Personally saying we love the bloatware free near stock android experience.

SCREEN AND DISPLAY

Being a LTPS display it provides a great experience. Although some One users have been complaining about a yellow tint or a stuck pixel in their display, but the device which we got hands on did not had any problem with the display. It is quick, bright and crisp display. You do have several display modes, thanks to Cyanogenmod, that will help you to customize the display as per your preference. Another thing which we would like to mention is about the viewing angles, they are awesome. You might not compare the display with the LG G3's quad HD display because there is a lot of difference between them. Obviously.

CAMERA

Equipped with the 13 MP Sony BSI sensor, this phone makes the best out of it. You will find no shutter lag and the response time is amazing. The dual LED flash helps a lot in low light photography. We would give a special mention to Cyanogenmod's camera UI, that is actually the best camera app you could get hands on. It's fast and clicks like a fluid.

The camera also does 4K videos which for now time is restricted to only a certain flagships. You also get time-lapse, slow motion video recording at 720p @ 120fps.

PERFORMANCE

The hybridism of high end specifications and a great display you could imagine what experience you could get on this device. The on board 3 GB RAM with Snapdragon 801 SoC, this device gives you a butter experience with almost no lag. This device is a beast in terms of benchmarks.

VERDICT

India being a price sensitive market, Oneplus has shot the One in the bull's-eye. At 21,999 INR this "the best" deal you can get. Although having an invite only-system Oneplus plans to sell more than 40,000 units by this end of the year. Customisable UI with Cyanogenmod's tweaks and flagship killing specifications make this #TheOneThing everyone should have.

Have a look at some great shots taken by One's camera.
